The Technical Secretary for Economic Development Planning of Paraguay presented the Poverty Map model for Paraguay, after estimating family income and the level of poverty and the number of poor households at the level of neighborhoods or localities.
These results were obtained by creating poverty models for each representative department of the country, combining data from the Permanent Household Survey for the years 2011, 2012 and 2013, which were then applied to the 2012 Census.
Objectives
- The objective of this study is to know the spatial distribution of the economic well-being of the population, represented through maps.
- The study seeks to improve the targeting of the government's social policies, with the aim of improving the standard of living of poor households.
