In accordance with the strategic orientations of the National Economic and Social Development Plan (PNDES), Burkina Faso defines its vision for development co-operation as follows: "By 2025, Burkina Faso's development cooperation system is dynamic and effective, contributing to its sustainable development and its influence on the international scene."
In this perspective, the Government has identified the following orientations:
(i) alignment with the priorities adopted in the national development reference framework, procedures and national systems;
(ii) compliance with commitments made in terms of development cooperation effectiveness;
(iii) increased mobilization of internal resources;
(iv) the option for non-binding and effective cooperation modalities;
(v) open partnership with non-governmental organizations, development associations (NGOs/DAs) and the private sector; and
(vi) resorting to green funds to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
