Action Dialogue Status: Planning

Theme

The Government of Senegal has launched the process of establishing an Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF) to strengthen sources of financing (public and private, national and international) to achieve the SDGs, in November 2020.

The next step will be a series of "multi-stakeholder action dialogues". These Action Dialogues, led by the Government, aim to strengthen the Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF) by driving policy, system and behavioral change towards better partnerships for development and building on the evidence and data from the monitoring of development effectiveness.

Objective

The main objective of the dialogues is to establish a common understanding between the Government and all development actors (development partners, local elected officials, the private sector and civil society organizations and NGOs) regarding their national sustainable development priorities and how to direct financial resources to achieve the SDGs by 2030.

Specifically, the Action Dialogues will be conducted by the government in order to initiate a reflection on financing for development with all stakeholders, including the national partners concerned, in order to:

  • improve the coherence of the different financing policies to achieve the SDGs;
  • ensure a better integration of the functions, processes and systems of planning and financing of the SDGs;
  • strengthen the framework for ongoing dialogue on sustainable development financing policies; and
  • strengthen the governance and monitoring-evaluation frameworks of the national strategy for financing sustainable development.
